The Department of Electrical Engineering (EED) offers programs in B.E.(Electrical) since 1997. Initially the intake was 30 which was increased to 60 in 1999. With the inception of the same course in the second shift in 2012 , the total intake is now 120. The Department of Electrical Engineering (EED) also offers PG course with the specialization in 'Power Electronics'. The course commenced in the year 2010-11 with intake of 18 which was subsequently increased to 24 in the year 2013-14. Both these programs are approved by Gujarat Technological University, Chankheda, Gandhinagar and AICTE.

Led by a team of qualified, dedicated and experienced faculty members with a keen acumen for teaching, the Department of Electrical Engineering (EED) is considered as one of the best in the state of Gujarat. The EED stands out with its intensive laboratory based curriculum, state-of-art laboratories , innovative teaching methods and very strong industry-academia interaction program. The department has well equipped laboratories for Electrical Machines, Control Systems, Measurement & Instrumentation, Power System, Industrial Electronics, High Voltage Engineering and Project cum Research lab. Though most of the laboratories are upgraded to meet the requirement of PG course, the department has few laboratories exclusively for PG course to meet the curriculum needs and to carry research activities. Over and above, it has dedicated computational facilities with simulation software(s) and full internet and intranet connectivity, for both UG & PG courses.

The Electrical Engineering Department prepares graduates for technical positions in the expanding fields of electrical power system, electrical machines, measurement and instrumentation, microprocessors and electrical equipment. The primary objective is to provide a broad foundation of conceptual and practical knowledge in the areas of electrical and electronic circuits, electrical machinery, and electrical power systems.   1. To demonstrate broad knowledge of electrical engineering technology to support design, application, installation, manufacturing, operation, and maintenance of not only electrical but also other diversified areas like electronic, computer, and instrumentation systems.
