Learning
from various ‘mediums of expressions’
has been an integral part of architectural education.
Exposure to various art forms such as painting, sculpture,
photography, film – making inculcate a visual culture
amongst the students of architecture. This not only develop
an understanding about film as a medium but it also make
students aware about social and cultural values and other
intricacies of life.
|
|
02
|
With
this understanding, Architecture Film Club is being formulated
to sensitize the students to the various aspects of film
appreciation and film – making. The Film Club conducts
regular films screening and workshops related to film
– making and film appreciation.
|
|
03
|
The
purpose of the constitution of this club is mainly academic
and it is not for mere entertainment. The activities carried
out by the Film Club will encourage students
to develop a different perception regarding the medium
of films. Being related to the designers’ community,
this will also help students develop an interest in the
aspects of film making which needs inputs from the designers
such as art direction, set design, graphic design etc.
