Vision

To cultivate a healthy environment within SCET for those who are challenged.

Mission

To provide all possible help and equipment for those who are challenged in any way, thus enabling them to merge into mainstream of academics like any other student.

Objectives

  • To help the challenged students.
  • Provide every possible facility like wheelchair, stretcher and elevator for needy stakeholders.
  • Keep looking for better ways and innovative ideas that can help the challenged students and prevent the issues.

Introduction

According to Census 2011, there are 2.68 crore Persons with Disabilities in India (who constitute 2.21 percent of the total population). Out of the total population of Persons with Disabilities, about 1.50 crore are male and 1.18 crore female. These include persons with visual, hearing, speech and locomotor disabilities; mental illness, mental retardation, multiple disabilities and other disabilities.

AICTE, has also recommended that  Disability Resource Centers should be set up in the University /Colleges/Educational Institutions of facilitate quality higher education to students with disabilities on equal basis with others.

In light of this, SCET administration, has established Disability Resource Center, SCET. Following facilities are available for the challenged students, in the institution.

  1. Elevator.
  2. Wheelchair
  3. Stretcher
  4. Access ramps, conveniently located
  5. Specially designed toilet/bathroom
