Library Functioning

SCET library has a rich collection of books on Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Civil Engineering, Textile Technology, Architecture, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The collection includes reference books, text books, and CDs

All in-house operations in the library are fully computerized using the SOUL 3.0 software package which also provides web-based access to the online catalogue of the library.

Barcode Circulation System

The Library uses SOUL 3.0 software package which is an integrated multi-user library management system that supports all in-house operations of the Library. It consists of modules on acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serials, article indexing and OPAC. The database of books available in the Library is being updated on regular basis with details of recently acquired books. Records of all the Library patrons have also been created in the SOUL 3.0 package.

Web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue)

The Library’s Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) can be accessed on Intranet and Internet to search all the bibliographic records available in the Central Library database. The OPAC can be searched by author, title, subject, keywords, classified number and publisher.
