Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology, Surat has reconstituted a SC-ST cell as per the guidelines of University Grants Commission, New Delhi and Ref. F 1-5/2006 (SCT)Dated 25-08-2006.
Vision:
To be a higher education institution of excellence with commitments to create a progressive civilization towards building an environment of people centred and ecologically sustainable, and respect and care for the dignity, equality and social justice for all.
Mission:
To build a holistic environment for everyone irrespective of social or economic status.
Objectives:
- Guide the SC/ST/OBC/PWD students of the Institute, to optimally utilize the benefits of the schemes offered by the State Governments, Government of India, AICTE & UGC also the corporate sectors, NTPC, ONGC and others…
- To counsel and guide SC/ ST students and help them to manage academic and personal issues of college life effectively.
- To ensure provisions of an environment where all such students feel safe and secure.
- To provide prompt counselling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any event at the campus.
- To provide the mechanism to redress the grievance of SC/ST students, if any.
Activities:
- To collect reports and information of State Govt. and UGC’s orders on various aspects of education, employment of SC/ST Students.
- To disseminate the information of scholarship, guidelines and/or policy of State Government, Central Government, UGC, AICTE and also the corporate sectors to the students and faculties.
- To communicate with the students and motivate them for better future planning.
- To coordinate with Grievances Redressal Cell for the Grievances of SC/ST students to render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.
- Its function is also to help the SC/ST categories to integrate with the mainstream of the university community and to remove difficulties, if required.
